Pinterest is an online pin board, where users categorize and share images. Unlike other social media platforms such as Facebook and Twitter, you can’t publish any content unless an image is involved.
Before using Pinterest, it’s important to know the difference between the two types of Pinterest accounts you can have: a Pinterest personal account and a Pinterest business account.
Although business accounts look very similar to personal accounts, there are 5 main differences. The first difference is that to create a business account, you need to follow the prompts on this url https://business.pinterest.com whereas to create a personal Pinterest account you need to follow the prompts on this url: https://www.pinterest.com. The second difference is that to create a business account, you need to agree to the business-specific terms of service. The third difference is that with a business account you can name your account your brand name. So instead of naming your account your first and last name, you name your account the name of your business. The 4th difference is that you’ll be able to access analytics to give you insights about your audience and your performance on Pinterest with a Pinterest business account. The 5th main difference is that a business account allows you to create “rich pins”, also known as “super pins” or “enhanced pins”. Rich Pins are Pins that include additional information on the Pin itself. There are 6 types of Rich Pins: app, film, recipe, article, product and place.
Should you have already created a personal Pinterest account, you can easily switch to a business account by going to:https://business.pinterest.com and clicking on “convert now”.
Like any other social network, Pinterest uses its own jargon. So before you start using Pinterest, you’ll need to know the following terms:
Pins are Images published on Pinterest (the equivalent of a social media post) Boards are Folders on Pinterest to categorize pins A Pinner is A Pinterest user To Repin is The act of sharing someone else’s pin with your Pinterest followers by publishing it in one of your Pinterest boards Followers are The Pinterest users who are subscribed to your account and are able to see your pins in their newsfeed Following are The Pinterest users you subscribe to, to see their pins in your newsfeed. Feeds are What you see when you login to Pinterest. All the latest pins from the people you follow.
Once you’re familiar with Pinterest terminology, you’re ready to open an account and start using Pinterest effectively.
First, open your account and make sure that you write a keyword rich bio, underlining who you are as a business and how you help people. Avoid just writing a job title. Then, add a profile picture as accounts with no profile picture perform less well. Your profile picture can be your business logo if you are not the face of the brand or it can be a headshot of you. Then, add a url where you want to point your followers to. It could be your blog, or your website, etc…
The next step when using Pinterest for business is to start adding content to your account. Start by creating boards with keyword rich titles. Make sure you also select a category for each Pinterest board to help people find them and for Pinterest to recommend your Pinterest board. Your boards should be aligned with your topic and be of interest to your target audience.
The next step when using Pinterest for business is to fill your boards with original and relevant pins. Pinterest is not an online catalogue for your products. Instead, it’s a place where people look for and share unique and interesting images.
Then, to increase your chances of being found on Pinterest, take advantage of Pinterest tools. Add a Pinterest widget on your website like this one. When people browse your website and click on the widget, they’ll be redirected to your Pinterest account. You can also embed your pins, boards or profile onto your website or blog. To do so, simply go to: https://developers.pinterest.com/tool… and then add the link of the Pinterest board, pin or profile you want to display on your website or blog, and grab the embed code.
Lastly, when using Pinterest for business, you’ll want to build your audience. To grow your Pinterest followers, a good habit to adopt is following people so a percentage of them follow you back. Follow up to 100 people a day. This should get you an additional 20 followers if not more, a day. Another way to get noticed, is by engaging regularly with other pinners’ content, who attract a similar audience as yours. You can engage by liking their pins, sharing them and more importantly, by leaving interesting comments.

Eight Ways to Make Money with Pinterest
Post by: Juan Carlos Sanchez
Making money via Pinterest is very doable if you know how to do it right. Pinterest makes it easy for businesses to use the social network to make money. There are many ways to make money with Pinterest that anyone can take advantage of with just a little work.
Have you heard of Pinterest? Want to learn about exactly what it is & how it works? You’ve come to the right place! Watch this video to learn what Pinterest is and how it works!
Pinterest is a free website that requires registration to use. Users can upload, save, sort, and manage images—known as pins—and other media content (e.g., videos) through collections known as pinboards. Pinterest acts as a personalized media platform. Users can browse the content of others in their feed. Users can then save individual pins to one of their own boards using the «Pin It» button, with Pinboards typically organized by a central topic or theme. Users can personalize their experience with Pinterest by pinning items, creating boards, and interacting with other members. The end result is that the «pin feed» of each user displays unique, personalized results. Content can also be found outside of Pinterest and similarly uploaded to a board via the «Pin It» button, which can be downloaded to the bookmark bar on a web browser,or be implemented by a webmaster directly on the website. They also have the option of sending a pin to other Pinterest users and email accounts through the «Send» button. Some websites include red and white «pin it» buttons on items, which allow Pinterest users to pin them directly. Initially, there were several ways to register a new Pinterest account. Potential users could either receive an invitation from an already registered friend, or they could request an invitation directly from the Pinterest website that could take some time to receive. An account can also be created and accessed by linking Pinterest to a Facebook or Twitter profile. When a user re-posts or re-pins an image to their own board, they have the option of notifying their Facebook and Twitter followers; this feature can be managed on the settings page. On the main Pinterest page, a «pin feed» appears, displaying the chronological activity from the Pinterest boards that a user follows. A «board» is where the user’s pins are located. Users can have several boards for various items such as quotes, travel or, most popularly, weddings. A «pin» is an image that has either been uploaded or linked from a website. Once users create boards and add pins, other users can now repin, meaning they can pin one user’s image to their board as well. Once the user has set up their account and boards, they can browse, comment, and like other pins. Pinterest has also added the option of making boards «secret» so that the user can pin to and view boards that only the user can see when logged into their own account. Pinterest does not generate its own content; rather, it draws from many resources around the web and compiles them in one convenient location for users.

Making money via Pinterest is very doable if you know how to do it right. Pinterest makes it easy for businesses to use the social network to make money. There are many ways to make money with Pinterest that anyone can take advantage of with just a little work.
Create Product Pinboards – If you sell products, make a pinboard of them. You can make one board for each category of product. Ensure that the pictures show up sharp and look as good as they would in person. You actually can do this if you sell services too. Just find an image that represents the service using words with the images to get the attention of the viewer, and link to your shopping cart – for example using aMember.
Link to aMember: http://www.amember.com/
Create Memes with Motivational Quotes – Make an entire board with motivational quotes, but make them link back to your blog when the visitors click them. This is a great way to get extra traffic to your blog, where you can use the quote to promote something that you sell that relates to the quote. You can use software like Canva to help you create memes.
Link to Canva: http://www.canva.com/
Have a Contest to Get More Email Subscribers – Contests on Pinterest are a wonderful way to get more email subscribers. There are many ways to run a Pinterest contest, including third party software that you can use to help you run it correctly.
Link to third party software – http://corp.wishpond.com/pinterest-contest/
Create a Portfolio Board – This works great for service providers and artists who need a way to showcase their work. For example if you design websites, you can put screen shots of each site with software like Snagit in the portfolio and link back to your website. You can do this with books, photography and more.
Link to Snagit – http://www.snagit.com/
Create a Testimonial Pinboard – As you collect testimonials, use Canva to make them into images with quotes. For example, you could put the person’s picture on the left, with a small part of their testimonial to the right in quote form. Link to your website and the services or products the customer purchased.
Pin Affiliate Products Properly – You have to be careful about pinning affiliate products because Pinterest strips out your affiliate code. But there is a way around this. The way to do this is to use pretty links such as a Bitly, or you can also use a redirect (see links below). Note: You can do the redirects with every host.
Link to Bitly – https://bitly.com/
Pin YouTube Videos That Promote Your Products – A great way to promote your products or affiliate products is to do a demo video or a review video of the product and include an affiliate link or your sales page link in the description of the video.
Pin Images from Your Promotional Posts – When you write a blog post that is promotional in nature, ensure that you include an awesome image of the right size and shape so that you can then promote that pin on Pinterest.
Put two or three of these money-making ideas to practice as soon as possible, and you’ll see for yourself that you can make money with Pinterest. It’s easy, it’s lucrative and it will happen if you do it
.
Eight Ways to Get More Followers on Pinterest
Getting more followers on Pinterest isn’t much different from getting followers on any other social media network. You must be a contributing part of the community on a regular and ongoing basis, ask for people to follow you and follow them back.
Add a Pinterest Tab on Facebook – You can easily add a tab on your Facebook page in order to encourage people to follow you on Pinterest. When you create the new tab, be sure to point it out and announce it to your Facebook likes.
Add a Follow Pin on Your Blog – Your blog and website should also have a follow me button for Pinterest. If you use WordPress there are many plugins available to make this a simple and almost automatic thing to do.
Invite Your Friends – When you join Pinterest you get the option to invite the friends their system can find, using your email address book to determine who might be your friend.
Cross-Promote Your Social Media – Using your email mailing list and other social media accounts, be sure to share your different social media accounts with easy share, like and follow buttons.
Comment on Popular Pinboards – When you comment on pinboards, everyone who sees your comment can follow you on Pinterest. If you comment, just say something intelligent and don’t spam by asking people to follow you. Really communicate with others without “selling”.
Post Original Content Regularly – Don’t add 100 updates all at once; instead create them and then schedule them to go out periodically. This way you show up with something new often. And the more often you show up with something new, the more chances you have of people following you.
Repin Other People’s Content – When someone has content that you like and that you find useful, repin it. The activity is going to show up to more people and then you’ll have more of a chance to get new followers.
Use Keywords Wisely – Keywords are important because that’s how people find you when they want to find certain types of pins. Add keywords in descriptions, board names, and anyplace you can to get more viewers.
Getting more followers on Pinterest will help increase the buzz about your business, as well as help bring more traffic to your website and blog. Plus, you may also gain email subscribers if you organize your pinboards in such a way that makes viewers curious about what else you have to offer. Build your followers, like your boards slowly and steadily, and you’ll get a lot further and be more successful than if you do it too quickly.

Hopefully I will show you how to dramatically increase the traffic to your website using these simple yet effective techniques.
The first technique is to actually pay for advertising for your website. This can be done using such services provided by Google, Yahoo and MSN where you pay to have your website listed in their sponsored links section when a user searches for a key term. This will get traffic to your website almost immediately. Always refine each campaign to see if you can maximize the return on investment for each time you place ads on these search engines.
The second technique is to write articles and content. Have content on your website that pertains to the products and services you are selling. Make sure you check your website logs to see what terms people are searching for and then make sure you write about those topics. Do not have enough time to do this yourself? A good way around this is to use a freelance service such as eLance.com or rentacoder.com. You could even partner up with a student at a local college or university to write the articles for you. The student would benefit by gaining the valuable experience and would gain writing samples for their portfolio. This is by far one of the most effective techniques of gaining traffic to your website. You must also make sure you publish some articles to those syndication sites that will allow other website owners to benefit from your experience and knowledge.
The third technique I would recommend is to submit your website to the top three search engines. These search engines include Google, Yahoo and MSN. By doing this you will get increased traffic by users searching for content that you have developed using the above technique.
The fourth technique is to partner up with someone else on the Internet that is selling similar complimentary products. Exchange links with these partners in order to increase your rankings on the search engines. be careful who you partner up with and make sure they are reputable in the field as you are attaching your name to this person or company and what they do could adversely affect you as well.
The fifth technique is to find newsgroups that pertain to your products or services and participate in the conversations. Try not to oversell your products or services as you will most likely be banned from them and really create a bad impression for yourself. Rather, only answer the questions that people ask to make yourself the true expert in the field so that people will visit your website.
These techniques are low cost in order to get people to visit your website. While not the only techniques out there for driving traffic to your website these are some of the most effective techniques that will help establish your website as a true leader in the field…

Writers, Make Money with Private Label E-books Resell Rights
Post by : Juan Carlos Sanchez
In the past, whenever a reader wanted to pick up a book they often went to their local library or book store. Now, more readers are getting their books online. These books are being marketed as e-books. E-books come in a format that is easy to read off of the computer, but they can also be printed. If you are an experienced writer, you may be able to make money by creating your own e-books.
If you are interested in taking part in this money making opportunity, you will first have to find a topic that will inspire readers to purchase your material. This can easily be done by using the internet. You will want to look for popular topics that are being discussed online. It may also be a good idea to see if any e-books are already available, especially those with the topic that you intend to write on. You can still write an e-book on a popular topic, even one with numerous e-books already available; however, it may be more difficult to sell your completed e-book.
After you have found a topic and completed writing, you will then have to make an important decision. This decision may not only have an impact on how much money you make, but how much work additional work will be required. That decision is whether you want to sell your own e-book or have someone else do it for you. As you may assume, there are a number of advantages and disadvantage to each. To select the best option, you are advised to fully examine the advantages and disadvantages. Doing so will allow you to make a more informed decision.
If you decide to sell your own e-book, you will find that it not only takes time, but money as well. Customers cannot purchase your e-book if they do not know that you have created one. For this reason, you will have to effectively market your e-book. This may involve the creation of a website and multiple informational articles. You will need money to design and develop your own website. If you are unfamiliar with web design, you may even need to hire the services of a professional website developer. If time and money is something that you do not have, you may want to examine private label resell rights.
Private label resell rights are how many individuals are making money nowadays. If you make the decision to have someone else sell your creation, you may want to take this route. In a way, you will be giving away your e-book, for a fee of course. The person who purchases the resell rights to your e-book will then be able to sell it to the general public. This person will likely to be experienced in product advertisement. In addition to being experienced, these individuals are will likely have the time to market your e-book, whereas you might not.
When it comes to offering your e-book resell rights for sale, you will have a number of different options. There are many authors who allow their resell rights purchaser to alter their material and then claim the creation rights; however, this is not always the case. By creating your own contract or user agreement, you should be able to stipulate what you want and do not want done with your e-book.
The individuals who purchase the right to resell your e-book will make an unspecified amount of money off the sale. Many times, the amount of money they make will depend on how much work they put into marketing the e-book. While you may be interested in pocketing this money yourself, it is important to understand how resell rights work. When offering your e-book resell rights for sale, you can put any price tag on it that you would like. This means that that you can control how much money you make.
If you are interested in creating e-books for the purpose of offering private label resell rights, you are urged to start examining your options. As the popularity of private label resell rights increases, you may soon find that so does the competition. To make money off of this opportunity, you are encouraged to act fast before someone else creates an e-book just like yours.

Writers, Make Money by Creating and Selling Private Label Articles

Are you a freelance writer looking for work? In the Untied States, there are thousands, if not millions, of individuals who are making a career as a freelance writer. The only problem with this is that there are a limited number of money making opportunities. As the internet has increased in popularity, so have the number of ways that clients are able to obtain content for their websites. If you find yourself looking for ways to pay your bills, you may want to examine private label articles and what they can do for you.
When you create private label articles, you will not need to have a client. Instead of being told what to write, you can write on any topic that you desire. However, as you are most likely already aware of, it is best to write articles on popular topics. Website owners are the most common buyers of content articles. This is because original content may help to increase their search engine rankings, increase their website’s visitor count, and make their website more interesting. In most cases, website owners only purchase content that is popular at the moment. That is why it is a good idea to make sure you are writing marketable articles.
Traditionally, after you write your own articles, you will begin searching for a buyer. If you have already tried selling your articles this way, you are probably aware that it is not as easy as it sounds. Finding buyers will not only take time, but it may also take money. In the past, if you didn’t have time or money you would be out of luck. Now, you can allow others to sell your content for you. This is done by making the private label resell rights to your content available for purchase.
With private label resell rights, someone will buy the resell rights to your articles, often in large quantities. It will then be their responsibility to market and sell them. Depending on the agreement you and the buyer make, the buyer may be able to claim the content as their own. In addition to claiming your content, they may also be able to alter it. If you do not want your content altered, you will just have to outline it as a stipulation in the user agreement.
When offering your article rights up for sale, your first thought may be to keep everything the same, including your name as the author. While there are advantages to doing this, it may have an impact on how much you are able to sell your resell rights for. Many buyers prefer purchasing a product, including content articles, which they can not only alter, but claim as their own. By allowing this to take place, you should be able to charge more money for the resell rights.
If you are interested in selling the resell rights to your content, you will have to find a prospective buyer. This is often compared to finding a buyer for your own articles, but it is often easier. As soon as you make your opportunity available, you should begin to see results. This results will often be inquires or sample requests. If a prospective buyer is pleased with what they see, they may agree to purchase the private label resell rights to your content; thus ending your responsibility.
If you are unsure about this unique money making opportunity, you may want to, at least, give it at try. If you are unable to sell the rights to your private label articles you can then return to what you were doing before. One great source to present your articles to is My Biggest Collection Of PLR Content Ever Lauchend, they buy a large volume of articles. If you do find success, as many writers have, you don’t have to stop there. You could continue to write content articles only to sell their resell rights. In fact, if you had a successful relationship with a previous buyer, there is a good chance that the buyer may return for more of your handcrafted articles.
With private label articles you don’t have to spend hours writing, editing or spending a fortune hiring an expensive ghost writer. You just get to reap the rewards because you control the content, you decide how to use it, and you can leverage it to position yourself as an expert in your marketplace quickly..Doyouthinkhave1,000,000articleswiththemainmarketnichesprivatelabelrights, atapriceofauthenticmadness?…Do notbelieveme?Do you want toknowmoreaboutthissuperoffer?…Asyou takeactionanddon’tmissthisopportunity, clickonthebuttonbelow…Noticeofferavailableonlytothefollowersofthisblog
Writers, Make Money by Creating and Selling Private Label Articles
How To Write Articles For Page 1 Rank On Google, Yahoo & Bing is an important concept to help with article marketing and video marketing.
Writing articles is very similar to video marketing because your goal is to get someone to take an action by opting in to something or buying something.
We use the same strategy across all platforms to get on the real estate we want to be seen.
You do not need to change your marketing campaign if you are writing articles, shooting videos, posting on Facebook or tweeting on Twitter.
In this lesson, we are going to write an article, submit the article to Ezine Articles and try to establish real estate on Page 1 of Google, Yahoo & Bing.
We will begin by writing a title that has between 60-70 characters with spaces. The number one rule for your title is to put your main keyword at the very beginning of the title. There are no exceptions to this rule.
You are given 100 characters on Ezine Articles to add your keywords. This means you’ll have 5 or 6 keyword phrases. Choose these words wisely and make sure you use them in the body of your article.
You will also have to choose a category and a subcategory. Try to choose the most relevant topics they give you.
You will also have to write a summary of your article. They allow you 300 words, but they suggest you stay between 2-5 sentences. I usually write 3 sentences and this is much shorter than 300 words.
Don’t worry if you see a yellow warning flag. This usually means you have extra whitespace in your summary. They will remove it upon submission.
Your summary should have everything you have in your title. This is very similar to the beginning of your description for YouTube videos.
The most important part of your article is the body. You need to have at least 400 words in the body and no more than 500 words. NO EXCEPTIONS!
Just like YouTube marketing, you want to present a problem in the first few paragraphs. Make sure your main keyword shows up in paragraph 1. NO EXCEPTIONS!
I like to keep my paragraphs to no more than 3 lines because it makes it much easier to read.
Now that you’ve stated the problem, you want to provide solutions to the problem. The most efficient way to do this is by using steps or tips.
If you use three to ten tips or steps, you can easily get to 400 words very quickly this way.
After you finish your last tip, you’ll need to leave a paragraph or two to summarize your points.
For example:

Writing good articles – Article submission tips and writing
Post by : Juan Carlos Sanchez
A good way to gain publicity and visitors for your website or service is to submit articles on quality sites. We will briefly put together a few points which one should consider while submitting their travel articles.
It is no secret that a good way to gain publicity and visitors for your website is to submit articles on quality sites. At the same time I strongly believe that submitting your articles on sites which share the same niche (or category) as yours is a better way to indicate search engines about the category of your article. For example it does not make a lot of sense to publish an article of travel or tourism on a finance website or a technology blog. The visitors of a travel website are likely to be in a mindset of vacation ideas, hotels, airline deals, events and travel attractions. Now if a visitor comes across your article on a travel site, it not only provides a reference link back to your website but most important the person is actually interested in that niche.
We will briefly put together a few points which one should consider while submitting their articles. We have selected travel niche as an example for these article writing tips.
1. Basic strategy of writing articles:
Your article should be written in simple English and easily understandable my most users. It does not need to be too long but usually recommended no little than 300 words, preferably more around 500 words. Clearly state what the travel article is about, use short paragraphs and bullet points. Always provide true facts, good or bad. Consider using use numbers and figures in the text in your articles wherever applicable.
2. Title:
Always use good attention-grabbing titles which not only contain your main keywords, but also give the brief idea to the users that what your travel article is about.
3. Keyword density:
Well if your article is about New York tourism then we recommended that you should have it in your title and multiple times in the body of your article. There are several free tools available on the internet to evaluate your article’s keyword density.
4. Link to your site:
If you have a website, then you should certainly provide a link back to your site, if this article is about a section inside your site then consider giving the inner link over your homepage.
5. Bookmark your article with Sites: Once submit travel article and it is published you should consider it book marking using Delicious, Reddit, Digg and Stumble upon. Since these are social bookmark sites, this will also deliver significant traffic to your website. Similarly subscribing to the RSS feed using sites like bloglines and netvibes has similar advantages.
6. Write often: People and search engines are always looking for new articles. You will not only have more links pointing back to your site but also real organic traffic.
Writing good articles – Article submission tips and writing
In this video, I show you a basic search engine optimization technique you should use on ALL new content you publish to the internet – whether it be a YouTube video or your own affiliate site. I also continue along with my Art of Snore case study, and you can see that the site is ALREADY getting organic SEO traffic!
Social bookmarking is still a very valuable back linking method.
I social bookmark my sites on all the major social bookmarks because it does 3 things:
1 – it gets your blog posts, articles, and videos indexed and found by Google
2 – it gets your content social proof – it’s easier to get likes and shares from social media traffic, so it’s a great way to start the snowball. Google does rank your content based on the social clout of your content.
3 – you can get quality, targeted website visitors to your website. A lot of these people will turn into customers and subscribers because of their highly targeted nature.
Question:
Do you social bookmark every page or video on your site?
Answer:
Yes, every single time I create a new piece of content I social bookmark it!
In the very recent past, a friend of mine [Kate] was lucky enough to get her website listed (bookmarked) on Digg, a very popular social bookmark site. With her permission, I was given an excellent chance to overlook and analyze the traffic generated from these types of sites. Read on to discover the pro’s and con’s of social media site traffic, and how it could be utilised in your own website or online marketing efforts.
Firstly, it should be said that any sort of internet traffic, should not be considered useless. Visitors to your site should all be welcomed, as any visitor is a good thing. In saying that, however, it should be noted that traffic in all its greatness, is not created equally. Great differences become apparent when you start to analyze its source. The purpose of this article, is to take a much closer look at the traffic generated from social bookmarking, from the perspective of internet marketing.
Unless you’ve been living under a rock for the past 2 years, you’d notice a very big trend on the web–social bookmark and media websites have become «all that» on the web. Slashdot, Stumbleupon, Digg; any of these popular sites sound familiar?
This is where a lot of social bookmark traffic will originate from. In essence, these sites are driven and «controlled» by the users. Users or members choose which content they want to bookmark, and this will lead into viewing and discussing of said bookmarked content. Sites such as these are immensely popular, and flow traffic that the average website owner can only ever imagine having. Thats a lot of traffic, isn’t it? But is it really useful?
All this traffic and hype must be a good thing, right? But is it really worth your time? Should you integrate active promotion to these types of social media websites? What about concentrating all your online marketing strategies on these types of sites? The question more at point is, what are the real pro’s and con’s of getting your website listed on the front page of sites like Stumbleupon or Digg?
As a website owner myself, I wanted answers, and I wanted them quickly. In addition, I wondered if utilising these sites could benefit me; i.e, could they help me generate more income online?
Recently, my friends listing on Digg enabled me to have a upclose look at these sites, and the effects they brought to a website owner. This was a chance for a first-hand, upclose study; I was not about to pass this up.
However, this didn’t happen by chance. Kate took the action of placing the free «Addthis.com» bookmark to all her pages. You can also do this quite easily. Using this simple bookmark «button», you can start to attract these sites. However, be warned; a site featured on the front page of social media sites can almost instantly generate 100,000’s of visitors to your website; this in essence is enough traffic that it may overload your server. Not good!
So be careful; active promotion to these social bookmark sites should only be taken upon if your servers or web hosting company can withstand the sudden influx of traffic.
With Kate’s permission, I utilised Google Analytics and started to analyze these types of visitors and social bookmark traffic generated. Interestingly enough, some very important factors were realised. The Majority of this traffic will:
– Simply bounce back.
– Very few visitors will stay on your site; even for a short period of time.
– Very few visitors will actually go into the depths of your site.
– If you have a newsletter or similar, you’ll notice that very few sign-up for these.
– If you utilise any type of marketing follow-ups, etc, very few will enter.
(In saying this, an unknown variable is the content of your site. Is it well written? Does it perform well? Is it useful or attractive to the visitor?)
Traffic from these sites does pose a very common problem, however; its temporary traffic, to say the least. The mass amount of traffic generated will usually only last a few days at most, that is, until your listing or bookmark is removed from the front page. Most of these visitors will rarely remain on your website for long, and the majority leave within seconds. In saying that, you may have a few sign-up’s to your newsletter or Ezine, or visitors that explore your site. But keep in mind, this number will not be very high.
Social media site traffic can be likened to customers in the drive-thru sections of fast food restaurants; they come and go as quick as they came. The visitors will basically view your content, and before you know it, have already left, surfing back to the main site to venture onto the next item or listing. Social bookmark traffic will always behave differently, to a large extent, when compared to organic search engine traffic, or your newsletter traffic, for instance. Very differently.
Visitors from Kate’s article posts will generally add up to 50 to a 100 new sign-ups a day; much different when compared to social bookmark traffic. In addition, readers and visitors to her articles are actually interested in her content, and therefore have been previously exposed to similiar content upon reaching her website. So in this case, there was no comparison.
The choice of traffic will always lay in the visitors generated from search engines, atleast when comparing to the traffic from social bookmarking sites. A question still remains, however– is social bookmark traffic really all that useless?
Firstly, as previously mentioned, you need to remember that no traffic should be considered useless. Any type of visitor to your website should be counted as a good thing. Any website owner should realise that getting traffic and visitors to your website is a must; otherwise its game over.
When someone searches for a particular term in a search engine, and they end up at your website, this means that your visitor is there because you have what they’re looking for. This type of traffic is essential to your website. Visitors like these are considered to be «targeted traffic»; that is, they’re more likely to read your pitch-page, overlook your information, sign-up to a newsletter, or even buy a product. Additionally, they may also become repeat visitors. Traffic like this is ideal. These are the types of visitors you really want.
However, its not all bad news. Social media or bookmark sites do have a bright side.
How would you like the possibility of your website gaining exposure to millions of people? Sounds good, doesn’t it? Even though you may not get sales, for instance, this traffic can assist in getting your websites name out there; branding it, creating a buzz.
If your website appeals to a more mass market, then you are even more in luck. Social bookmark traffic in this case can be an excellent source of traffic and visitors.
Social sites such as these also have another added bonus; gaining a link on high PR7 and PR8 websites, with high traffic flow, can’t hurt your search engine rankings. After your website is featured on a social media site such as Digg, your link can also appear on a large number of secondary websites on the web, as much as 1000 or more. Much of this traffic will also be using the Firefox web browser, which is embedded with the Alexa toolbar– what does this do for you? Your Alexa traffic rank will be improved. As much as 50% of the visitors hitting Kate’s website we’re running the Firefox browser.
Something worth pointing out, is that the traffic generated from Stumbleupon was much different. Longer stay durations were the common thing in this traffic, that is, this traffic behaved more like organic traffic. This could possibly be attributed to the fact that Stumbleupon is a higher quality site, and this was reflected from the higher quality of the visitors originating from there. This also made me come to the realisation that not all social media/bookmark traffic can be measured with the same stick. This experience also pointed me out to something important; the content featured on Kate’s website is geared towards targeted visitors from search engines and articles, and is generally not suited to the mainstream net-surfer.
An idea to better take advantage of this type of traffic, is to gear your website and its content to more mainstream internet users. Whether or not this enables you to achieve a greater level of success, is largely dependant on what you offer and how it is offered. Another unknown variable, unfortunately.
In the near future, I hope to gain the chance to further study social bookmark traffic, and its long-term effects on websites. In specific, the effect it would have on keyword rankings and link popularity rankings in search engines; only then can I come to any type of real judgements. However, for now, my mind is being kept open, and the idea is being tossed up as to whether social media and bookmark traffic is actually worth the time or the effort. Is the time taken away from your usual day-to-day marketing efforts worth it?

8 Offline Marketing Ideas
Post by : Juan Carlos Sanchez
…That Could Bring In Revenue To Your Online Business
Before businesses converted to online marketing, the bread and butter marketing and advertising techniques are mostly focused on traditional marketing or what is not called as offline marketing. These 8 offline marketing ideas have been around for years and have been proven time and again to bring in revenue to any business whenever they are well-placed and well-timed.
Classified ads
Ad placing on any local or national newspapers – if your pockets could afford that – can give your website traffic or sales a really good boost. How? Apparently, people still read newspapers and trust the things they read on print media. And with this same level of trust, people view newspaper ads as something that they can be confident about. Online businesses that have placed ads on newspapers have benefited from the great advertising rates of this medium.
Flyers and Posters
There’s a good reason why small and large companies alike still use flyers as part of their marketing campaigns. They work and they work really well. Place flyers somewhere with good traffic and watch as traffic get diverted to your website.
Direct Mail
The offline version of opt-in email listing and email marketing, offline direct mail is a marketing method that directly contacts individual and inform them of your website’s presence. When done consistently and with good email pieces, this strategy can help with brand awareness. This may even result to instant sales.
Infomercials
While this could turn out to be quite expensive, infomercials are actually very effective means to enhance brand awareness and to increase market reach. Since most infomercials run consistently over a long period of time, these often allow for some curiosity on the part of viewers. If you don’t have enough budget for infomercials, try group advertising. This will spread the cost between you and your partners.
Business Cards
These are possibly the least expensive of all marketing strategies. Give your business cards to anyone you meet and leave them anywhere you go. The results may not be instantaneous, but in time, your cards could bring in revenue for your online business.
Give Free Information
If you are an expert in a field relevant to your business, you could try to be a free learning resource. You could do this by holding a free offline class. Radio and TV shows are also good mediums as these could reach a wider spectrum of audience. If you can, try to get an interview over the radio or on a TV show.
Freebies and Giveaways
Giving away promotional items is still alive and well. Next to business cards, this strategy is probably the second least expensive. The cost of this offline marketing strategy could run up to a few hundred dollars or more though if you’re giving away expensive free items.
Network with Other Local Business Owners
The chamber of commerce as well as other local business associations are powerful tools to expand your network. Connections mean better opportunities. Try to get as many connection as you can by attending local business owners meetings and conferences.

Learning How to Make Money Blogging
Post by : Juan Carlos Sanchez
There are two major types of business models that
entrepreneurs use to make money blogging. The first
and most common way to turn a blog into a profit
making machine is to sell advertising to different
companies and brands who want to reach that blog’s
readers. The second kind of money making blog is one
that helps a single brand improve its image by creating
positive associations between the blog and the product
in the mind of consumers. Both kinds of blogs can
make a lot of money, especially if the creator has a keen
mind for marketing.
If you are blogging with the goal of selling advertising,
there are two basic ways that you can go about
recruiting sponsors who want to put ads on your site;
you can let someone else do all of the legwork, or you
can do the work yourself and keep all of the revenue.
Within the first group, many people make money
blogging by selling space through Google’s AdSense
program. The advantages of this program are numerous,
as it requires very little effort on the part of the blogger
or webmaster to begin raking in profits. However, most
people discover that they make less money through this
method than they had hoped that their blog would earn.
Selling advertising directly to companies who want to
put banner ads or sponsored links on your blog can take
quite a bit of time, but it is often fairly lucrative. If you
have a lot of contacts in industries that are related to the
topic of your blog, you may want to try to go this route.
People who have a strong background in sales and are
experienced at pitching proposals can make quite a bit
of money by renting blog space to interested companies.
The most serious problem with this model is that you
often have to build quite a sizable readership before you
can attract advertisers, which can mean that you have to
do several months of work before you start to make
money blogging.
As blogging becomes a more and more lucrative
business, a lot of established companies are considering
how they can get into the action. One way that
companies are capitalizing on the blog movement is by
having blogs that provide a kind of friendly face for
their corporation. Often, a company will employ an
established blogger to create a weblog designed
specifically to appeal to that company’s customers and
to create positive associations with the brand in
consumers’ minds. More than one writer who never
even dreamed that he or she could make money
blogging has been approached by a company and
offered quite a pretty penny for this kind of gig.

Writing The Article

Just as a builder would hesitate to erect a house without a carefully worked-out plan, so a writer should be loath to begin an article before he has outlined it fully. Just as a builder would hesitate to erect a house without a carefully worked-out plan, so a writer should be loath to begin an article before he has outlined it fully. In planning a building, an architect considers how large a house his client desires, how many rooms he must provide, how the space available may best be apportioned among the rooms, and what relation the rooms are to bear to one another. In outlining an article, likewise, a writer needs to determine how long it must be, what material it should include, how much space should be devoted to each part, and how the parts should be arranged. Time spent in thus planning an article is time well spent.
Outlining the subject fully involves thinking out the article from beginning to end. The value of each item of the material gathered must be carefully weighed; its relation to the whole subject and to every part must be considered. The arrangement of the parts is of even greater importance, because much of the effectiveness of the presentation will depend upon a logical development of the thought. In the last analysis, good writing means clear thinking, and at no stage in the preparation of an article is clear thinking more necessary than in the planning of it.
Amateurs sometimes insist that it is easier to write without an outline than with one. It undoubtedly does take less time to dash off a special feature story than it does to think out all of the details and then write it. In nine cases out of ten, however, when a writer attempts to work out an article as he goes along, trusting that his ideas will arrange themselves, the result is far from a clear, logical, well-organized presentation of his subject. The common disinclination to make an outline is usually based on the difficulty that most persons experience in deliberately thinking about a subject in all its various aspects, and in getting down in logical order the results of such thought. Unwillingness to outline a subject generally means unwillingness to think.
The length of an article is determined by two considerations: the scope of the subject, and the policy of the publication for which it is intended. A large subject cannot be adequately treated in a brief space, nor can an important theme be disposed of satisfactorily in a few hundred words. The length of an article, in general, should be proportionate to the size and the importance of the subject.
The deciding factor, however, in fixing the length of an article is the policy of the periodical for which it is designed. One popular publication may print articles from 4000 to 6000 words, while another fixes the limit at 1000 words. It would be quite as bad judgment to prepare a 1000-word article for the former, as it would be to send one of 5000 words to the latter. Periodicals also fix certain limits for articles to be printed in particular departments. One monthly magazine, for instance, has a department of personality sketches which range from 800 to 1200 words in length, while the other articles in this periodical contain from 2000 to 4000 words.
The practice of printing a column or two of reading matter on most of the advertising pages influences the length of articles in many magazines. To obtain an attractive make-up, the editors allow only a page or two of each special article, short story, or serial to appear in the first part of the magazine, relegating the remainder to the advertising pages. Articles must, therefore, be long enough to fill a page or two in the first part of the periodical and several columns on the pages of advertising. Some magazines use short articles, or «fillers,» to furnish the necessary reading matter on these advertising pages.
Newspapers of the usual size, with from 1000 to 1200 words in a column, have greater flexibility than magazines in the matter of make-up, and can, therefore, use special feature stories of various lengths. The arrangement of advertisements, even in the magazine sections, does not affect the length of articles. The only way to determine exactly the requirements of different newspapers and magazines is to count the words in typical articles in various departments.

Are You Making These Article Marketing Mistakes?
Post by : Juan Carlos Sanchez
For those who are not finding success with articles, or for those considering starting out, here are a few ground rules that will save you a lot of work in the long run.
As an article directory owner and editor I am exposed to a huge number of articles every single day of the week.
I sometimes receive complaints from authors who are angered by the fact that their article has not been published, which leads me to believe that there are still a lot of people out there who do not understand article marketing, nor the role that directories play.
For those who are not finding success with articles, or for those considering starting out, here are a few ground rules that will save you a lot of work in the long run and will likely get your article marketing career off to a much more auspicious start.
Read the article directory’s specific terms of service and guidelines. This may seem like a boring, tedious and long winded waste of your valuable time but in the long term it will save you hours of frustration and wasted effort. All directories set their own rules and some are stricter than others. Most directories labor under a huge number of submissions and the work of sifting through them is often the job of one individual. This means that if your opening paragraph or introductory statement is poorly written or contains mistakes, that is as far as the editor will go before hitting the delete key. The luxury of time to edit an author’s mistakes or to decline an article as opposed to deleting it, is one that most editors do not have.
Mass submissions are usually viewed as spam. Let’s face it, none of us are capable of writing over 200 articles in a day – I would say that even producing more than ten would be a pretty amazing feat of productivity. It should come as no surprise to those submitting large numbers of articles in a 24 hour period to find that they are all deleted. Article directory software usually allows for quick erasure of such submissions, so if you don’t want your work to fall victim to mass deletion, don’t mass submit. All that is needed is a little common sense. If you are using a submission service, set the option to stagger your submissions over a longer period of time.
Proof read your articles. If you don’t know what this means, look it up! If your writing is riddled with spelling errors, poor structure, punctuation horrors and grammatical butchery, don’t be surprised if none of them get published. I could write thousands of words on the most common mistakes seen in people’s writing. These usually involve spelling and grammar. Spell check your articles, even if you think you’re perfect, you will often be surprised at the mistakes you make. If you tend to misspell a word regularly, you will never correct it unless you make yourself aware of it.
If you are of the opinion that these things don’t matter (after all, people will know what you mean!) then think again. If you want to write and, more importantly, see your work published and picked up by other website owners and bloggers, you need to demonstrate an ability to write well.
As an example, all the «SEO experts» who talk about search engine optimisation (sic) but don’t even understand that being able to spell their claimed occupation correctly would lend a little more credibility to their claims. Just for the record, most words ending in «ize» use a «z» and not an «s». This is a very common mistake, but it would be corrected by the use of a spell checker, as would so many others.
If you want to write with authority, you have to be able to exhibit basic literacy. Yes, this is important and should be borne in mind by those who eulogize about «the Queen’s English», thus making themselves look even more foolish than those they chastise. (a good example of a word that does actually end in “ise”) Regardless of who is on the throne, it is always «the King’s English».
None of us are perfect and this is not a lecture on grammar and spelling, no matter how needed it might be.
If you are tempted to use PLR articles, even if you rewrite them in an attempt to make them unique, remember that you will be competing with all the other shortcut seekers who are doing the same thing. It’s another shortcut to the delete key for a lot of directories.
When it comes to the resource box, it is quite amazing how many authors defeat their entire purpose by making a mess of this vital section. If the article directory in question allows one, two or three live Hyperlinks, make good use of them. Think about your anchor text very carefully. In other words don’t say……to find out more click here and Hyperlink the words «click here». The resource box is where you need to give readers a compelling reason to visit your site(s) but it is also the one place you can make the most of good keywords as the anchor text in your links.
Use the resource box wisely and take full advantage of everything the directory is offering you by way of promotional tools. Adding your URL without making it a live link is a pointless waste of time if the directory allows you to use Hyperlinks in your resource box. Conversely, adding more than the quota of permitted links will probably result in deletion of your work.
Another thing to watch is linking directly to affiliate programs. Read the directory’s policies on this point or again, you may well find yourself on the cutting room floor. Many directories will stipulate that you may only link to affiliate programs indirectly by referring readers to your own site or domain. Some do not allow straight redirect links either.
Relevancy is also an issue here too. In other words, submitting a PLR piece about gardening and linking to your MLM program is not very helpful or wise, just one more recipe for deletion.
I should finish by saying that yes, you can churn out badly written articles to your heart’s content, just don’t be surprised at the results.

5 Reasons Why Blogging is the New Internet Marketing Tool
Post by : Juan Carlos Sanchez
Do you ever feel like you know just enough about Blogging to be dangerous? Let’s see if we can fill in some of the gaps with the latest info from Blogging experts.
Blogging is a concept that started in late 90s. It used to be a way to comment an existing webpage, an opportunity for visitors and readers to react or voice out one’s opinion on the said page. What started as a single-sentence commentary has evolved into pages of personal take on just about anything and everything under the sun. As it continues to move forward, online advertising has tapped into the blog’s potential. Here are 5 reasons why you should use blogging as an Internet marketing tool.
1.Blogging is simple.
The simplest way to get your piece on the net is through blogging. No skills are necessary… an average adult can read and type, or at least click a mouse. It’s like having a virtual piece of paper and you just write your ideas, experiences, new products, and hope that the truth behind your articles comes out and entice your reader to also try your product. If you have a PC and an Internet connection (who doesn’t?) then you can blog and advertise.
2. Blogging is authentic.
In this day and age where advertising saturate our lives, we question the credibility of promoters’ claims. However, in blogs, real people share their real-life experiences, unscathed by paid advertising. Reading blogs about first-hand product use is like talking to people about their first-hand experience. You definitely want to buy a tried and tested product.
3. Blogging is free.
Because blogging is yet to be proven as a mainstream online advertising media, most sites see it as something to augment current marketing tools and thus offer it for free. Any opportunity for free webtime is definitely a bonus especially to businesses that are starting up. Needless to say, paid blog pages can generate more income for your seriously growing business.
4. Blogging builds credibility.
As you get more and more into writing your experiences on a particular product or industry, your readers come to realize that they can depend on your posts for their own information needs. As such, you become an expert on it; as a consequence, more readers visit your site and more bloggers link to your blogs. As companies and professional organizations notice the growth of your readership base, they may soon get in touch with you for advertising on your blog page, or make you an affiliate, which pays for every referral generated from your blog site.
5. Blogging builds your market.
Unless you are a Hollywood star, chances are, only your Mom reads your posts. Mom has a lot of friends, so she lets her friends know how interesting your blog site is. But you need not depend on Mom to increase your readership base. Look into the following ways to build your market through blogging:
Knowledge can give you a real advantage. To make sure you’re fully informed about Blogging, keep reading.
-By using your e-mail.
Today, blogging is overcoming the e-mail’s popularity in quickly and effectively reaching and expanding a market. In this age of speed and quick access, logging in and downloading e-mail is simply taking longer than clicking into a blog site. Let them explore your site by using a short e-mail message as teaser to your blog site. If your e-mail is on an entirely different subject, use your e-mail signature to give a link to the site.
-By using subscription.
An easy way to get your readers e-mail is to give them an opportunity to subscribe to your blogsite. Keep some exclusive information for your subscribers to entice readers to subscribe and give their e-mail address. Just be responsible in using their e-mail address, as the last thing you want is a comment on your blog that you are a spammer.
-By understanding your readers.
Conduct a simple survey for your readers to understand their profile and advertising preferences. Ask consumers to give you feedback on a post, an ad link, or a trial that you shared. In this way, it is like interviewing your readers without the commitment and intrusion of a face-to-face interview.
-By joining a blog network
A network of blogs maybe a collection of blog sites that share the same industry, interest, readership base, payment mode, etc. Consumers find credibility and convenience in clicking one link to several real bloggers about a single subject. Clearly, more bloggers are better than one.
-By using RSS.
RSS is the fastest growing technology on the Internet today. As such, having RSS feeds to your blog is definitely another means of generating awareness for your readership base. Having a variety of feeds can add interest to your blog site.
Give your business a boost by effectively using blogging as an Internet marketing tool.
When word gets around about your command of Blogging facts, others who need to know about Blogging will start to actively seek you out. http://www.article-ecommerce.com/

How To Re-write PLR Articles Easily To Make It Unique
Post by : Juan Carlos Sanchez
Ideally, everything you publish on the web is unique and found nowhere else. There are several ways you can ensure content stays original:
Create your own content
Hire a ghost writer to create original content for you
Buy PLR content and customize it so that it becomes unique
The first option is obviously time consuming even for the person who loves to write. The second option sounds reasonable but it would cost you huge sums of money. Quality ghost writers will charge large sums of money to produce great material.
The third choice is the best for the average busy marketer with a tight budget. Articles found at PLR websites are written at a fraction of what an individual ghost writer would charge for the same content. But of course it’s cheap for a reason: other people are buying the same content and posting it on their own websites, which is why you need to learn how to rewrite PLR or customize it.
If you’re not a writer, then rewriting all that material will seem like a hard job but with a few tips and guidelines you could learn how to do it in minutes. Here’s how:
Learn how your readers approach web content
People don’t read content on a computer the same way they do on a physical book. Let’s quickly go over some key information:
Readers want to get in, get what they want and get out
Readers will scan the article, pausing at headings, first sentences and bullet points; as opposed to reading every word
Readers like white space so cramming a web page with little breaks and spaces will chase them away
Images and graphics are excellent but don’t overdo it
Use clear, short sentences, and keep it straightforward
Now that you know what your readers want, start with the following:
Change the title (visitors will read the title)
Edit the intro by adding your own words, or find a way to rework the original
Paraphrase some of the body. Find areas that could be improved and work in your magic
Change the order of the paragraphs. Unless there’s a good reason to keep the article in sequential order, you can play around with the paragraphs.
Read the article again and see if it’s good enough to post.
With that little formula you will never have a problem with PLR content. It’s simple, quick and it works.
How To Re-write PLR Articles Easily To Make It Unique
PLR stands for «Private Label Rights» and it basically means content that you can buy to re-use and even claim as your own.

There’s a good reason why so many internet marketers use PLR articles exclusively, rather than creating their own unique content from scratch.
Any website or blog owner knows how hard it can be to keep your sites updated with fresh and interesting content. You don’t always have time to write everything yourself, and hiring a ghostwriter to create unique articles only for you can get very expensive. Any decent writer would not charge less than $15 for an article.
With PLR, all the research and thought about the topic has already been done for you. So it’s quick way to create new content and all in all a huge timesaver.
